Different Types of Denim Fabrics

Cotton Serge:

This is known as the traditional denim as it is made of 100% cotton serge. Denim is always blended with other fabrics.

Raw Denim:

This type of denim is unwashed, dark and is very stiff and durable. The more it’s worn, the more it fades with every wash and gives a natural look.

Selvage Denim:

The selvage denim is with tight weaving that will not unravel. This denim is more expensive as compared to other types of denims.

Stretch Denim:

This has a blend that is closest to pure denim. It includes 2% to 3% of spandex material.

Poly Denim:

Poly denim is more light weight and looks like a dressier denim. This makes it more easier to wash and dry. This fabric is more resistant to wrinkling.

Ramie Denim:

Ramie denim is blended with plant fabric ramie. This is what reduces the wrinkling in the fabric and gives a softer feel to it.
